Historical Notes
It would be deeply unfair to go the route of the cycle path without giving credit to the Railroad Valley Brembana ! If today we can ride in complete freedom away from the chaotic traffic of the highway , because it is right at the beginning of 900, someone had thought to facilitate the transport of goods and people across a railroad. The first stretch of 30 km. from Bergamo to San Pellegrino was inaugurated in 1906 , the next 11 km. to Piazza Brembana , was opened in 1926. On 17 March 1966, the railroad ceased his travels , certainly to promote the fledgling company autoservizi SAB , with great prospects for the same but short-sightedness of the directors who do not appraised the damage that would be done in the future to the Valle Brembana.
